–In a nutshell, how would you describe Natural State Fishing to those seeking a guide?
Natural State Fishing is an interactive educational experience for all ages and skill levels. Our goal is to provide a safe, exciting and memorable experience for all.
–What was the catalyst behind starting Natural State Fishing? And why the focus on crappie fishing?
Natural State Fishing was born of a childhood dream. About four years ago, a friend asked me, “How can you do what you love professionally?” He followed up with this statement: “There are people who need whatever it is you get out of fishing, and they’re waiting on you to provide it.” That statement stayed with me. I prayed about it, reflected on it, and over the next several months God made the vision clear.
I grew up targeting crappie with my family in Mississippi. As an adult, I found that catching crappie from Central Arkansas’ deep clear water reservoirs proved more challenging than any other species. The nostalgia coupled with the challenge and remarkable table-fare makes crappie an easy choice.

-What are some of your favorite fishing spots in Arkansas?
Due to its proximity to the Little Rock metro, scenic beauty and the caliber of fish available, Lake Maumelle is my absolute favorite place to fish. I also love and frequently guide on Lake Ouachita, and Brewer Lake.
