Five Film Scripts Selected from 203 Entries in China’s Huaxia Suyun Program

BEIJING, CHINA, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A national film screenwriting and project development program in China has concluded with five film scripts selected for recommendation from 203 submissions received from across the country.

The “Huaxia Suyun” program, launched on July 28, was organized by the China Society For Literature Popular Research. It focused on original film scripts drawing on folk traditions, folklore, rural life and everyday stories.

The five recommended scripts are The Strange Tale of the Yellow Weasel, Bamboo Rhyme in Hakka Country, Paper Flowers, Dusk and Mind Magic. The works cover genres and subjects including folk suspense, rural life, intangible cultural heritage and psychological drama.

A panel of directors, screenwriters and producers evaluated the submissions for originality, storytelling, artistic quality, cultural elements and potential for film adaptation. Among the panel members were producers Guang Nan, Chen Lv, Zhijie Li, Lingyi Zhou, Enxing He and Chuantong Yang, along with Yixian Liu, Zhenhong Liu, Hanzhong Ye and Tianyi Yi.

The organizers said the five selected projects will move into follow-up activities including project presentations, industry exchanges, promotion and investment matchmaking.

The program was established to provide a channel for original scripts to move from writing and selection toward further film development.
